Summary Rage in Heaven

After a devastating rampage, Kovacs and his allies hatch a bold - and very risky - scheme to infiltrate Head in the Clouds.

Reileen tries to lure Kovacs wearing Ortega's sleeve and tells him that she sent the ghost walker to kill Ortega's family since she destroyed her clones and cost her a lot of money. Kovacs unsuccessfully tries to stop the killer, but he arrives too late and everybody is murdered. Kovacs goes to his hotel and asks Ava, Vernon and Micky to change their IDs and leave the town since they are in danger. Kovacs makes a clone of himself using Isaac's 3D and finds his friends have not left the hotel since they want to help him. They plot a plan to Kovacs and Vernon go to the Head in the Cloud and destroy Reileen's clones with a virus and record her confession. Will their plan work?

S1 E9

Kovacs tells Poe he figured out the Bancroft case. He enjoys a drink at the Raven bar. Ortega arrives in rough shape, saying she was killing Kovacs' sister.

Kovacs gives her a tender bath, he says Rei has many backups anyways.

Poe goes to see Lizzie. Lizzie says she is like a spider in a web.

At the tub Ortega asks if Kovacs loves her, but then Kovacs realizes it is Rei. Rei says Ortega is alive . She says Leung will get her. Kovacs rushes out.

Leung goes to the Ortega house. He kills the male relative answering the door, the mother, then goes to the kids room. All are killed. Kovacs is sad and angry, arriving too late. He goes to a bar, fingering a stack. Rei as herself arrives. The disc is Marylou Henchy, she grabs for it. He figured out Henchy was not Neo-C but re-coded. Neo Catholics cannot be re-sleeved. Rei says she built an empire for the two of them, he wants no part of it. She gives him a photo from their time as kids. Rei was deeply affected when they were split up. Kovacs remembers his sister was kind, Rei is beyond help, he leaves.

Kovacs gets in a limo with Miriam Bancroft. At the Raven Hotel Poe, the Elliot's, and another Kovacs watch on a monitor the car fly away.

I8 hours earlier, Kovacs leaves the Ortega's to meet his team. Ava wants to stop the Meths.

Tanaka processes the Ortega slaughter. In the apartment he gets sick and vomits.

Mickey arrives at the Raven, Kovacs hears him out, he wants to help find Ortega.

Kovacs says they all have to leave Bay City, he says he's going after his sister.

Ortega is chained to a med pod, Rei comes to tell her Leung will have her.

Kovacs sets up a workstation in his hotel room, his team barges in. A Kovacs clone is almost ready. Ava figures out where Rei lives. The five men bond.

Ava makes the mind clone, there are now two Kovacs. The two plan their next steps.

Now they watch the clone fly away with Miriam. In VR Kovacs goes to see Lizzie, she is getting violent throwing knives. A worm leaves her body. She starts getting confused.

Elliott makes a device to put Rei to sleep. Ava and Mickey will be hacking while Elliott and Kovacs move in. The two fly up to Head in the Clouds, a Meth brothel, owned by Rei. They have 16 minutes to get Rei. Elliott is impersonating a General and is taken to a hooker. She offers a blade for him to kill her. Elliott refuses, the girl gets upset, this is her first time. She doesn't know she would be killed for real. Elliott drugs her asleep. He gets to an operator screen to change security codes. Kovacs has to kill two guards who are searching the car, but is nicked by a reaper blade. Elliott tells the staff he is leaving. Kovacs gets to a utility area with clones at rest. Elliott decides to go find Kovacs, they both arrive at Rei's suite just as her backup starts and throw the device by her feet.

Ortega is unconscious in the pod on the wall. Kovacs finds a syringe to give himself a shot and counteract the poison. Kovacs then tells Rei her backups are gone, he wants a full confession from her. She explains Bancroft, who had returned from Osaka angry. He came to her establishment and killed a few hookers, Henchy was next up but had tried to escape, then jumped to her death. Rei then had to frame a dogged Ryker who had found Henchy's body and stack. Bancroft did kill himself out of guilt but was convinced he was murdered. Rei then arranged for Kovacs to be released as the investigator so they could be together. Suddenly Leung and a squad of henchmen arrive to save Rei.
